Buying Policy

We are passionate about using local fresh produce. Our menus reflect seasonal availability and do, therefore, change with the seasons. We source Cornish produce where-ever possible, buying direct from local farmers and butchers. Where wholesalers are used they have been selected because of their ability to assist us in our Cornish sourcing policy. We do not claim to use 100% Cornish produce as this would, with seasonal changes, limit the opportunities for our chefs to create interesting dishes. Christmas Season & Party Menu 2010.

Chefs freshly prepared leek and potato soup with herb croutons.(v)

Free range chicken, spinach and wild mushroom roulade with
mixed leaves and puy lentil dressing.

Locally caught sole goujons in a crisp crumb coating, with mixed leaves and tartar sauce.

Tempura of aubergine
with an almond, honey, mint and yoghurt dipping sauce.(v)

Cornish Yarg  and cherry vine tomato salad with mixed leaves and mustard dressing

Roast crown of West Country turkey
with kilted sausages, chestnut seasoning,
roast potatoes and  gravy.

Braised top rump
of Cornish beef, roast potatoes and traditional pan gravy

Slow Roast free range belly pork with a bacon and radicchio risotto.

Baked cod fillet
with a shell fish and herb cream sauce.

Baked Cornish goats cheese tart
with sweet and sour shallots.(v)

(All main courses served with a selection of fresh local vegetables and potatoes)

All items on the menu will be freshly prepared on the premises by our own chefs.

Lunchtime - £19.75 - Evening - £23 - Full party nights - £26.50 & £28.50 (dependent on date)

For lunchtimes we also offer a 2 course and coffee for £15.


Prices are fully inclusive of discretionary service charge.

A £5 per person deposit required at time of booking. Balance payable 14 days before event when your group order is also requested. Organisers are provided with easy to prepare order sheets. In the event of late cancellations we will seek to replace the bookings so that a refund can be made. We regret that cancelled places left unsold will, however, be non refundable.
All Christmas group tables will be festively decorated and will include crackers. Full party nights will include party poppers, whizzer balloons, our in house D.J. and the opportunity to dance the night away. A quieter room is also provided for those wish to while away the evening in a quieter environment.

 

 

Christmas Day 2010

Wild Mushroom and butterbean soup
with sourdough bread.

Mosaic of Cornish Duck confit
with gingerbread and citrus marmalade.

Cornish white crab and coriander timbale
with spiced brown crab samosas.

Slow roast Cornish belly of pork
with prune and apple compote on a baby spinach and orange salad.

Smoked goats cheese gnocchi
with beetroot, balsamic jelly and walnut dressing.

Sliced crown of turkey with chestnut stuffing
served with kilted sausage, roast Cornish potatoes, and a light Thyme jus.

Roast topside of Cornish beef
with Yorkshire pudding, roast Cornish potatoes and traditional pan gravy

Pot roasted Cornish lamb rump
with toffee carrots, apricot and rosemary dumplings and a light veal jus.

Pan fried monkfish loin
wrapped in savoy cabbage and bacon with roast baby onions and braised lentils.

Open lasagne of butternut squash
and oyster mushroom with a Goats cheese and olive oil dressing

All main courses are served with platters of fresh local Winter season vegetables.

4 courses - £55 per person --- Children under 12 £35.00

All our dishes, including desserts, are freshly prepared by our own chefs. A non refundable deposit is required upon booking with the balance payable on 1st December. You will be requested to place your order in advance so that we vcan guarantee thet your choice will be available. We recommend booking early to obtain your preferred time.
